A Couple of Weeks in Vancouver

It has been 21 years since I moved to Vancouver, Canada. Unfortunately I don't do too many Vancouver posts... Just not my thing, lol. Fortunately, I have a few unsorted photos to post and I have no idea how to post them, except in this manner. Uhmm... Yea, I'm not gonna follow a certain blogger by titling this post this way, lol. I just had no other way to describe this post :P If you're that interested, I could do more, but it'll be boring XD Anyway... These couple of weeks started off on April 1st.

I had a chat with Yakuri on the night of April 1st because she had a computer trouble. So I took this picture to show her the battery for the motherboard... That wasn't the problem though and unfortunately I couldn't help ^^; I hear it's fixed now. I was also explaining my April Fool's joke. :P

In the afternoon I met up with Mr. TheCandyMan and were going to go to the Auto Show at the Vancouver Convention Centre. I got myself discounted tickets from my dad thankfully. The parking was not cheap though ^^; I didn't feel like taking photos of cars at the time, so I didn't even take a photo of the Lamborghini on display...

But this... THIS. IS. AWESOME! It's a Lexus, but I have NO idea what it is! It looks so good from front, side, and even back!

Lookit them exhausts! And the spoiler... WOW! Anyone can tell me what car this is?

The sakura/cherry blossoms were blooming in full view. I've passed this street EVERY day when I go to work. It's about 3-4 blocks from my house. It's basically lined with these trees. Very beautiful! My photo does not do it justice.

They had a no tax sale at Superstore in my region. We basically save 12% tax on everything in store. They also sell electronics, so I got myself the 3DS! The tax would've added an extra $30. I also had points at this store, so that was an additional $80 off! And almost $7 off from when I buy gas from this store. And to top it all off... a free turkey (a $24.99 value!) when you spend as much as the price of the 3DS! Just in case anyone asks... I'll put my friend code here: 279306359912 ... Let me know who you are and your code so I can add you later. I don't have any games for the 3DS yet though ^^;

And last Friday, I took more photos of "flowers" and cherry blossoms :P

I met up with Chun again last Friday for something or rather...

I'm tempted to get a similar head now... Himitsu looks great!

It was a bit cloudy and breezy, but didn't really get any good shots of flying petals ^^; I tried my best simulating it, but still hard, lol.

Afterwards we got ourselves some CAEK from Diplomat Bakery nearby. Delicious caeks! Yuki wants some caek! I also got an apricot danish just because it looks so good (and tastes good as well!) but I forgot to take a picture of it ^^;

I bought two for myself. This one is the white chocolate something or rather. I forgot the name. Very sweet! I loves it :D The other one was blueberry cheesecake tart which tasted much better than this one, lol. I'm quite partial to blueberries as well.

*monotone voice* Yay. I got caek.

It's not the year of the tiger anymore... This is the year of the rabbit!

I'm quite fascinated by Chun's pair of cats, Yoshi and Ginko while I was there. They were playing a lot. Here's a picture of Yoshi playing with the boxes. At one point he was in one of the boxes, but I was too slow to take a picture ^^;

Visiting the Puppy Residence

So around the beginning of January, I asked Puppy52 aka Chun if she wants to participate in an April Fool's joke. After explaining my idea and exchanges of other ideas and brainstorms, she agreed to go with it. Of course since she loves her Taiga very much, it would be difficult for me to borrow Taiga, so I asked her if it's ok if I can drop by the house to take pictures of Taiga.

THE CONCEPT: I managed to convince Chun to sell her Taiga with a truckload of money.
THE MASTERMIND: Me, of course. Vewy, vewy evil!
THE THROWAWAY JOKE: Posting Taiga for sale, the day after I make a post of me acquiring her, for an exuberant amount.
THE TRICK: Posting it on April 1st in Japan Standard Time at 8:00 AM local time in Vancouver, Canada to make it more plausible.

The original idea came about around the same time when I finish the collaboration with Wolfheinrich to make a long 4koma arc with his newly acquired Dollfies. I wanted to make a 4koma with Chun's Taiga. It expanded even further than I thought. All I wanted was to actually have Haruhi interact with Taiga Dollfie so I don't have to Photoshop anything.

Since I visited her place, I was able to take photo of her other Nendo Puchi Taiga. And Haruhi really gets stepped on by GiganTaiga.

Of course, I had to bring both Haruhi and Saber Lily figma for this to work. And thankfully Chun had a similar backdrop as the ones I usually take at home.

I've also encountered Chun's Pedobear ^^; Double trouble with Haruhi around!

Of course, with my April Fool's jokes, there's some truth to it... I wonder what that truth is...

I've also managed to encounter the "furry monkeys" as Chun likes to call her two cats, Ginko and Yoshi.

Unfortunately I've forgotten to take a photo of myself with Taiga with her on my arm. So I came back a week before April 1st to Chun's place and also met Kam for the first time. He showed me his stacks of (unbuilt) Gundams!

Here I am kidnapping Taiga in my new ReleaseRain doll carrier bag. I wonder why I have this bag...

And I get to be the first to see tsun-tsun Taiga Mk.II! She's sooooo cute! This was an extra. The original idea was for me to get Taiga and leaving Chun Taigaless. But schedules advanced and this Taiga was able to be finished in time before April 1st and made the joke a bit more convincing.

"What are you making my creator do for April Fool's??"

I also met bluestarbaby there and we hung out and went to dinner afterwards, leaving the furry monkeys to their devices. Ginko and Yoshi were very naughty when I was there the second time. Ginko stole a piece of cake from bluestarbaby's bag... Well it was mostly Ginko at this time. She's like the mastermind apparently. Just like me in this April Fool's joke!

Yoshi was being silly most of the time. It became very sunny that I was able to play with Yoshi with my shadow. So funny!

Well that was my visit to Puppy residence... Thank you very much Chun for accommodating and entertaining my crazy April Fool's joke! It was really fun, and hopefully everyone had fun as well ^^;;;

Oh and one more thing, as Chun holds me at gunpoint, she will never, ever, EVER sell her Taiga Dollfie, so don't even ask or try!

Year of the Taiga

For a few years, since Chun created the custom Taiga Dollfie, I've been bugging her about dollnapping her ^^; But no more!

APRIL FOOL'S!

I've finally able to convince Chun (with a truckload of money, and lots and lots of begging and groveling, not a pretty sight I tells ya) to sell me her Taiga Dollfie! I'm soooooooooo happy! I've been eyeing her for a while, especially after watching and loving the anime.

It was no easy task attaining her actually... I've heard from a passing comment by Chun at a doll meet that she is creating another Taiga head. Then an idea popped in my head (no pun intended); "why don't I ask her to sell it to me." It took a lot of talking and conversations and many emails, but it was finally a deal :D With the truckload of money (plus one extra item I feel sad to let go...), Chun was also able to track me down a few materials for us to both have a Taiga! I have a smiling Taiga and Chun has a new one that hasn't been revealed yet,so I won't say what it is :P

Edit: Ooooh! Looks like Chun posted her new Taiga now!

Chun was also kind enough to let me pay in installments, but because I had a lot of overtime at work recently, I was able to pay her in full!

So here she is finally, my first dollfie musume! Complete with her school uniform! She's still posing awkwardly because of that MDD body. I'm still afraid of posing her too much, especially after the warnings Chun gave me :(

For now she's got her standard standing pose and leaning against the wall pose ^^;;;

I was eager to pose her with any Taiga/Toradora merchandise I can find around the house. I bought this Taiga fan a long time ago from eBay. She looks like a peacock in this picture XD

And of course, it wouldn't be my kind of post unless we see some 4komas! Just arriving and Taiga has already have to deal with this craziness ^^;;
