The wig isn't perfect, or made for her but it will do. IT WILL DO.

I can say I'm rather excited about tomorrow. I haven't been in cosplay out in public for quite some time, especially not here in this tiny town. I know people will look at us but we don't care! We love to express our individuality and creativity! Nothing wrong in that and no harm either.

I know my friend Kay-chan will be going as Shigure. She's working on the Kimono tonight! Talk about over night cosplay! w00t. I think Ne-chan will be Noodle from the Gorillaz~ I'm not sure who else is going. My sis might join us but she doesn't have a costume. I gave her some suggestions but I don't know....if anything she likes taking photos (she's the one who does my photoshoots) so she can at least get some nice shots of us. ^___^;

Well, I should get back to working on the ears....I'll update tomorrow on how it goes. Hope you all have FUN TOMORROW!!!!!!!!

Fruits Basket: Honda Tohru and Souma Yuki

There is a distinct difference between the manga and the anime of Fruits Basket; the anime shows a romantic relationship between Yuki and Tohru while the manga shows Yuki realizing his love for Tohru was more of a longing for the love of a mother.

To be perfectly honest, I prefer this pairing than Kyo and Tohru. It just seemed so perfect. You can imagine my disappointment when the final few manga volumes were released, but I guess you can't always get what you want.

At least Cherokee sent me this cosplay right? Featuring *Kanasaiii as Tohru and ~solano1984 as Yuki. Thanks also to their photographer, ~BanditYinG for the wonderful job well done!

What better way to recycle bugs?

I meant to post this a few days ago when I finished it. Here's Princess Agitha's bug necklace...(that I still might touch up because ONE bug is facing the wrong way and yah..)

Also...I tried on Keika's wig for her Leon Magnus crossplay. I love wearing short wigs, they're sooo easy to deal with. -__-;

Ayame Sohma - Finished!

So It should NOT have taken as long as it did to finish this. I procrastinated a lot. It was pretty easy and my first costume where I actually used a real pattern... XD It was fun and I am decently happy with it. I can't wait until AOD!!! I love cosplaying with my friends. It's going to be so fun---I miss it!

Ayame Sohma Prog 1-6-09

I finished my pants for Ayame today. I kept messing up though so it took a while but now they look nice! ^~^ I also worked on the jacket. It's almost done...I just need to finish sewing on the buttons and adding white along the collar and sleeve cuffs. I didn't finish because I went to a party that was held for my Uncle's birthday.... We played boardgames all night and it got pretty intense. I love my family XD

I'd say I'm about 90% done with my Ayame cosplay. Pretty easy cosplay though.....but it'll be really fun being one of my favorite male characters. :D!! THAT's what matters.

Anyway...got to go......bye! (Sorry for no pictures....well aside from the crazy one at the top. XD)

Just going to add the golden buttons and then the white fabric around the collar and cuffs (I don't feel like making a white shirt for underneath when hardly ANYTHING shows.

Ahh...Still need to make the pants but I got to buy a zipper first. :3

We;re going to have a Momiji now! ^~^!!!! Robbie has decided to cosplay as Momiji. I think she will make an awesome Momiji too. She's so cute. :3 We watched Fruits Basket today and now she's hooked and loves the little bunny~ I even have the backpack so she could wear it if she wants. She'll be doing his little school 'girl' uniform. Hehe.

I helped her find a wig online and she's probably going to buy it tomorrow if her internet is working. :] I still wish we had a Hatori! Ah well though....sooo excited! Ayame & the Tree of Tranquility....

^~^ Sooo......watching Friends right now. Kind of feelin' under the weather today.

I started playing Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility for the Wii. I think I'm going to go for the boy who likes to receive flowers and perfume. He's cute...~ XD I just forgot his name.

Also, I think I decided on who I'm going to crossplay as for AOD (Anime on Display) an anime convention in San Francisco. I've decided to go as Ayame from Fruits Basket along with my friend who's going as Shigure ... We had other characters in mind but we ended up just choosing from the same anime because it's awesome and they're like best friends...and it's cute :O

Fruits Basket: Souma Kisa

The cursed tiger of the Souma Family, Kisa was bullied by her classmates for her strange colored hair and eyes. She was ashamed of being bullied and ended up not speaking a word for some time, making her mother worry about her.

Kisa loved her mother dearly and ran away from home when she realized she was causing her so much pain. She was later found by Hatsuharu and cared for by Tohru, who understood her very well having been bullied herself. They became very close as the series progresses, and Kisa finally spoke thanks to the support she got from Tohru, Haru, and Yuki.

She's so adorable! Just like the Kisa I'm familiar with. And I really like the color of her eyes too! Wonderful job!

Isuzu, who is more commonly referred to as "Rin" because it's an alternative way of reading the second kanji of her name, is the horse of the 12 cursed zodiacs. She is stubborn, independent, and sharp-tongued, but she cares for others deeply. Such traits are associated with people who are born under the Year of the Horse.

She and Hatsuharu have a close relationship with one another, which is unapproved by Akito and forcibly put to an end. Rin loves Hatsuharu very much and decides to find a way for him to break away from the curse, even if it meant receiving more punishment from Akito.

Rin only appeared in the manga, so people might not know her. But this is really a nice cosplay of the two zodiacs! It's just disheartening how much abuse Rin received at such a young age. Nice cosplaying though!

Fruits Basket: Souma Hatsuharu

The cursed Ox of the Souma Family, Hatsuharu has a split personality similar to that of Yin and Yang. The Souma family refers to his calmer side as “White” and his violent side as “Black”, which is similar to the Zodiac’s personal attributes.

He wear a lot of accessories, to which the Mangaka, Takaya Natsuki claims he makes himself.

Isn’t Haru cute? The hair’s just right with the black under the white. I hope Fruits Basket gets a 2nd Season!

Fruits Basket: Honda Tohru

The protagonist that everyone in the Souma family seems to be drawn to, Honda Tohru was a homeless orphan who was adopted into Souma Shigure’s household by a twist of fate. She is classmates and friends with the famous prince of their school Souma Yuki, and is now living with him!

You can probably imagine the horrors she has to go through in school with Yuki’s fan club breathing down her neck.

Isn’t she cute? This cosplayer looks so much like Tohru! Aw… No wonder all the Souma family members (including Akito eventually) are drawn to her!

Fruits Basket: Souma Yuki (and a Tag)

Since Mr. Rock Out tagged me, and the last time I ever got to post a personal article was a Side Rant on the Ragnarok Cosplay of Sohee, I decided to first feature a cosplay of a character I most relate to: Souma Yuki.

Just like Hatori and Momiji, Yuki is a member of the 13 cursed Souma family members. His sign is the Rat’s, and he is very popular in his school, giving him the title of “Prince”.

And I really like this cosplay… Too bad this Yuki is a girl.

And so, as promised, here is Mr. Rock Out’s Tag…

7 Random Things About Nanao-Chan:

1. I tend to take the blame for everything. I think it’s something inborn, so, if something goes wrong, even with the universe sake, I can’t help but think I’m somewhat responsible for it.

2. I hardly ever go out. Why? My parents are so strict they almost didn’t let me work, haha! (actually, it’s not laughing matter, because it’s true) I am working right now, but the catch with this agreement is that I can’t go to company outings and stuff. Funny, because my parents let me go to business trips outside the country.

3. I have an “I don’t care” attitude, but I cry a lot. When I’m angry, depressed, or whatever extreme emotion you can think of, I get teary. So even the 1st Pokemon Movie got me crying when Pikachu was trying to revive a petrified Ash Ketchum.

4. I think being given a fanart is the greatest most awesome-est gift anyone has ever given me. o(^o^)o

5. I am extremely over-protective… Also an inborn trait. So if something happens to my colleagues, I would usually either a. take tge blame for it; or b. start a war to show how much we were wronged.

6. I believe the world revolves around money. It may not be able to buy you happiness, but it buys you everything else. People tend to look highly of the rich, and they are “untouchable”.

7. Someone once asked me: “Did you ever think about who would visit you in a hospital in case *knock on wood* you got into an accident?” My answer was simply: No one. I’m not being emo about it, it’s just that practicality speaking, I don’t really see why people would visit me in the hospital when my parents are sure to keep shut about it…

So there you have it. Random stuff about Nanao-Chan. Please don’t take them too seriously. It may sound emo (I re-read this a few times before posting), but I’m quite happy and content. As long as there’s a cute cosplay to feature, I’ll be happy. o(^o^)o

I guess that would be the 8th thing about Nanao-Chan: The simplest things in life make me the happiest person on earth. ^_^

Fruits Basket: Souma Akito

People who only watched the anime of Fruits Basket will argue that Akito should be cosplayed by a guy, but the manga reveals that she is actually a girl! I was pretty shocked when I read it… She probably doesn’t want to be a girl because she despises them, saying that they are sneaky creatures that seduce the male Juunishi away from her.

The reason why she is basically the head of the Souma Clan since she is considered to be the Jade Emperor, the ruler of the 12 signs of the Chinese Zodiac, so her word is absolute. She’s also very sickly, and the anime mentioned she only has 30 years to live, though I’ve never seen that in the manga.

This is an awesome cosplay of Akito! Very accurate, though I’m not too intimidated by her…
