Fans of Alodia and Danny Choo would know, Animax Asia is currently holding a meet the Ani-Mate and Blogger extraordinaire competition!

The grand prize for both competition would be a fully subsidized trip to Hong Kong’s Halloween Treats party held on the 16th October 2010. And in case you didn’t get the opening sentence, the chance to meet Alodia Gosiengfiao and Danny Choo ^_^.
For more information, visit the official website here.
Halloween Treats Cosplay Photo Contest,
Let me start with the category. To take part, all you have to do is register as an Animax-Asia website member if you’re not already one. Then upload a favourite cosplay photograph of yourself, with a short message and you’re done! its as easy as snatching candy from a baby !
Sadly though, winning the competition won’t be as easy as that. Not when you’re up against awesome competitors such as these...
Seriuosly… how can my pathetic shana go up against them >.<?
Yes…. I took part too. But I know I won’t stand a chance =(! Pop over to my page if you think I deserve some attention T_T. Oh, by the way, competition is based on votes and views. So judging by the current status, I’m out of the race already T_T

(Okay I admit, I just don’t know what to write to link the above content with the below seamlessly. But anyway, enjoy pouting Rin yeah?? :D)

I may not be the biggest fan of Alodia and Danny Choo. But I sure would like to have the chance to meet them and……………..VISIT HONG KONG OMG \*_*/!!!!
You would think I’d have visited Hong Kong already but sadly, I have not T_T. One of my recent resolution/life goal is to become a Travelling Cosplay Blogger xD. It’s a little silly but hey, according to Bridget Jones, happiness comes from the pursuit of attainable goals. (Alright, alright its not really Bridget who said it but she was citing some survey yeah? so still counted as being from her/the book!)
Imagine being able to travel to another country to cosplay , experience the different culture and meet different people. That would be so cool right?
And so I’m here with this entry to tell you guys why you should like Hong Kong as a cosplay destination too!
1. DISNEYLAND!
Website: http://park.hongkongdisneyland.com/hkdl/en_US/home/home?name=HomePage
Because there is Hong Kong Disneyland! This is a place no Kingdom Hearts fan would be able to resist even if you cannot cosplay inside. Yes, it is strictly prohibited for adults to wear any form of costume inside. But still, there are the fabulous rides, sights and Disneyland scenery to gawk at!
This is Hong Kong DisneyLand’s 2008 Halloween Promo video! Looks so exciting >.<
The theme for halloween this year folllows that of an evil witch who was so enraged that nobody invited her to enjoy Halloween she decided to make it living hell for everyone else. Placing a curse on Disneyland Hong Kong and making vindictive frightful vines appear everywhere.
There’s a Tim Burton’s Nightmare before Christmas section D:!!!
To be honest, I’m usually not a fan of Halloween (except trick or treat!). I’m more a Christmas sort of person. Boring I know=_=. But surprisingly, the whole experience and theme on Disneyland Hong Kong’s website is making me excited about Halloween! I don’t know why… maybe its the 2010 Occean Park promotion video that’s making me see the festival in another light. I’m starting to enjoy the creepy , dark yet sexy alluring appeal . Oh no…am I going down the dark side o_o?
2. Ocean Park Halloween Bash
“ Join the party this September and October at Ocean Park Halloween Bash 2010, with spectacular entertainment including the renowned SCAREMONIES show, parades of your favorite ghosts and numerous deliciously dark encounters! Featuring the most ghouls and creatures from the underworld, this year’s Halloween Bash is a celebration of the macabre that’s bigger and more fun than ever before! Light up your night with Ocean Park this Halloween! “
Website: http://www.halloweenbash.com.hk/en/
Anyone who has watched Hong Kong Dramas before will know this place. It’s so famous every kid on the drama will be begging their parents to bring them there for some epic fun holiday getaway (and then after the parent finally relent and promise to bring them there, something tragic happens to either the kid or the family first lols . Clinche =X).
And Ocean park has a special halloween bash which sees its 1st decade of running this year. Watch the promo video but be warned, its not for the faint hearted.
The front part of the MV is horrifyingly scary T_T But the climax just burst through the ceiling when it reaches the dance chorus. I never knew death and Goth could be so hyped up and cool. And don’t deny it’s awesomeness, I bet you’re going “ha ha ha” now Hahahahaha!
Am I the only one who’s amused when one of the ghouls randomly hit someone and that girl squealed like 5 octave ?? LOL, OMG WHY AM I SUDDENLY SO SADISTIC?!
3. Avenue of Stars
“ The Avenue of Stars (Chinese: 星光大道), modelled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is located along the Victoria Harbour waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. It honours celebrities of the Hong Kong film industry.”
Website: www.avenueofstars.com.hk
The Avenue of stars will be holding a free entrance Halloween party from the 22nd to 31st October. I guess this will be the closest you’ll ever get to attending a cosplay party in October at Hong Kong. Other than boosting a variety of thrilling street performance, the event organisers have also arranged for ‘special guests’ to take pictures with you.
I guess if you’re around the area during that period and feeling a little broke. Maybe you can dress up as one of the ‘special guest’ and hang around the area. Who knows, maybe they’ll mistaken you as one of them and hand you a fat cheque xD
I don’t think this needs any caption from me =p
The hand prints and autograph of director John Woo
4. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
Website: http://www.madametussauds.com/hongkong/
http://www.travelingape.com/travel/visit-madame-tussauds-hong-kong/
Ahhhh the ever famous Madame Tussauds Wax museum! I seriously think someone should go cosplay as Sakuragi or Kaede from Slam Dunk, then pretend to snatch the ball from yao Ming or something. Better yet, bring your own stool and stand on top of it then get your friend to take a shot of you beating his ball down XD
Axis Power Hetalia cosplay anyone =x?
Oh ! oh! Jack Sparrow anyone xD???
5. Climate
While not exactly a country with distinct four seasons. Hong Kong is definitely a drier and more cooling environment for cosplaying. Hong Kong has a sub-tropical climate, being temperate for nearly half the year, with cool, dry winters and hot, humid summers.
I don’t know about you, but one of the biggest draw back of cosplaying in Singapore, other than the lack of resources, really, is the intense humidity and temperature!
Check out this website for more climate details.
6. GOOD FOOD!
Alright I lied. This has nothing to do with cosplay. But there’s no human on earth that can resist good food unless its a woman with the burning determination to attain a perfect figure. And to be in a city so renown for its Chinese delicacy cuisines and dim sum, how can one resist?! It is a sin itself to reject the seduction of good food *_*
“ Renowned as the culinary capital of Asia, Hong Kong boasts more than 11,000 restaurants, many of them clustered in defined food districts. Apart from enjoying the best Cantonese and regional Chinese food, visitors can sample a full choice of authentic Asian cuisines and Western fare. Local must-try dishes are dim sum and fresh seafood, with some of the top examples found in Best of the Best award-winning restaurants.”
Created this colage to showcase the Hong Kong goodies *_* I wanna eat Mango Ice, Polo buns, Milk tea and Dim Sum NAO !!!!!

Omg, I’m finally done with the entry! I really must learn to do shorter entries! I think I must have spent 6 hours or so on this T_T. In case you guys haven’t realized, this is my entry for the HKTB’s Blogger Competition! Please leave me a comment if you would like to support me as competition is judged partly based on comments and viewership.
Oh and by the way, those of you who follow me on Twitter would know I saw Alto and Sheryl at Kinokuniya. They gave me these.

Am wondering if anyone would be interested in getting them. I’m not a big fan of figurines myself so I’m looking to open this up for adoption =)
