Azonyan

When I received a right leg in the mail, I knew it was time for me to give Azunyan a proper photoshoot...

I'm being very cryptic, aren't I? =P

So here is the unblurred photo I took during the unboxing. And yes it is a K-ON Azone doll, Azunyan to be specific, as Ninjovee, Wolfheinrich and Q have guessed. Can't get past anything by you guys ^^; So if I do giveaways, I know that it won't be enough to just blur the photos XD

Also as I've mentioned before, she did not arrive in one piece... I was very excited when I unpacked her and then notice her feet were dangling... Oh no! I checked her left feet. It's just not inside the peg; perhaps it's the same with her right feet... Unfortunately not the same situation. Her ankle joint broke inside the leg. I panicked.

I wasn't aiming for a panchira... Honest!
I quickly took photos of the broken joints and send an email to Hobby Search, where I ordered her from, and explained the situation. Unfortunately it was the Obon holiday by the time my package arrive and they would be off for several days... They responded quickly after the holidays, however, and assured me I will get a new "right foot" in the mail.

Uh-oh... Just the right foot? Does that mean I have to take out the broken peg from her leg?? I don't know how to do that! I asked around and many people (Fat B, Flawless Exa, Eidrag, Yunamon, Soundwav2010, MarxTaichou) answered my call. At the time I was also in communication with Chun regarding dolls in general, so I also told her about this problem and I'm grateful for her support and answers for any questions and other concerns I had. Thank you Chun!

All that worry about removing the broken peg disappeared the instant I opened this package from Hobby Search. Which brings us back to my first sentence... The right leg that came in a box that was way too big for its content. What they sent to me was the lower leg, which means I just need to replace this leg, with ease, might I add.

The obligatory box photo... It splits in half revealing window view to the items inside.
So here we go again with the real beginning of the actual photoshoot and "review". ^^

The legendary moe item, the nekomimi!
Multiple outfit change for Azunyan! One of the selling points for me.
Multiple hands and... Not sure what that is on the bottom left...
Instructions on how to take care of Azunyan... Unfortunately I can't read any of it... HELP! I wonder if it's online anywhere... I'm very new to this Azone doll thing, so if anyone's got advice about this particular line of dolls, don't be afraid to chime in the comments!

Here's Azunyan showing off Muttan, her guitar.
I couldn't wait to put on her nekomimi right away! It was actually pretty difficult because it kept getting stuck to other parts of her hair.

Azunyaaa~n! Don't fiddle with it! It was so hard to put it on you!
And now Azunyan will strip for you! No, just kidding. Her thumb actually got stuck in some of the loose threads on her blazer, so I had no choice but to strip her... of her blazer. It created a nice opportunity for this photo!

She relaxed a little while I fixed her blazer. It also gave me an opportunity to see how her arms and elbows bend. It was hard to see because of the blazer and I did not want to break another joint...

Awww Azunyan's being cute putting her hands inside and letting her sleeve loose ^_^  Uh... not really... When I was trying to replace her hands her arm kept coming off from the elbow joint. Both left and right! I had to keep rolling up her sleeves to join them at the elbows again.

Ultra cute pose!
Nya~n!
I've yet to learn about proper lighting for photoshoots, lol, so I apologize for the light being too shiny on her eyes.

Nyaa?
Ok, this panchira's on purpose, unlike the one near the top...
I was able to balance this pose (even though it looks a bit strange) for a moment, enough to take a photo of it. anonymous_object mentioned in his recent review that it was hard for Azunyan to do other pose than just standing there. So I thought I'd try it out, lol. A stand is coming though ^^;

And now la piece de resistance! Two Azunyan with Azunyan's mug cup! Die! Die from all this cuteness!!! Umm... I don't mean that literally ^^;

I had to do a close up of Azunyan Nendo by herself. Too cute!

"I'm gonna have you for dinner, Azunyan Unit 2!" *OM NOM NOM NOM*
Sisterly love. No, wait, they're not sisters...
For some reason I thought Azone Azunyan would have a bigger nekomimi than the Nendoroid... How wrong I was.

Sitting in the cup, showing off her shoes ^^
Yes, there are "L" and "R" on her shoes :D
Reminiscent of the GO! GO! MANIAC! opening video? :D

Dipping her foot in the bath ^^
"Nya... Nyaaa"
That's it for now. I mean that's a lot of photos already, isn't it? I went nuts with Azunyan here despite having to deal with the elbows that keep coming off from her joints. This is just the beginning though... I've waited many moons for Azunyan and I already gotten quite a lot of outfits for her already even before I got her ^^; Not to mention she hasn't interacted with her "older sisters" yet... ^_^ Look forward to some more Azunyan!

Late Night Loot Unboxing

I've finally received my big package from Hobby Search for the end of July. All of these were released in July but I waited for all of them to be there first and combined into one shipping. I'm surprised they all fit into one box!

I picked up up the Goodsmile Company's Misaka Mikoto quite late actually. I ordered it just a couple of weeks before its release. I didn't know why I waited, really... The fan was also on a whim just because I liked To Aru Kagaku no Railgun a lot, but looking at it closely, it's not that great looking. At least it's small. I will post better pictures of the fan and the Mikoto figure at a later time.

I think Saber Alter was either released late June or delayed to early July. While everyone got theirs already, I didn't mind waiting as long as I can save money on shipping :P I think I'll do a group picture of all the Sabers again now that she's here.

Two K-ON Figmas and in numerical order! Pretty sure I'm going to have some fun with Mio's crying face and Mugi's yuri ecchi face for my 4koma. :D I ordered all five of the girls in Figma form, but not all the Nendoroids. Reason being that Nendoroids are more expensive and I sorta have more fun with the Figmas ^^;

And one more mysterious box... I was going to make a surprise post for this one this week. Unfortunately it didn't arrive safely. There's something broken when I opened it. I've send an email to Hobby Search, but they will be on holidays soon, so I won't get a response until at least Tuesday. T-T No fair! And so you'll have to be in the dark about it much more longer than I would've liked to keep you =P

Mugi Mugi Day

Awwww sooooo cuuuuuuuuttttteeeeee! And Happy Canada Day everyone! Yeah, I know I don't have anything Canadian here, but it's still posted on Canada Day ^^;

This here is a Mugi plushie. I brought her to AX and if everything goes well, she'll have a new goshuujin-sama ^_^

I bought her along with Yui. The online store, Big Pfeiffer, didn't sell them separately. I only wanted Yui, but I did find Mugi very cute as well when I got her. But I think her new goshuujin-sama would appreciate her more, even though the goshuujin-sama don't really own any plushies.

A close-up of the uniform.

And it's not Mugi without her takuan eyebrows ^_^

The backside. The hair is actually made in layers. I thought they weren't glued properly at first, but it made another layer of hair instead. Very cool!

It ain't a Within a Flash of Lightning post without a panchira, yes? :P

Spring's Not-So-Ecchi Anime

Within a flash of pantsu indeed... Remember, the word "pantsu" can mean any ol' underwear, even boxer shorts... Yes, after all that ecchiness from the previous post, we go to the not-so-ecchi stuff. I'm sure there are some ecchiness to it, but not as visual as Kissxsis or Ichiban Ushimaro Daimaoh.

This is actually safe for work, so go ahead and kill some time at work ;)

Arakawa Under the Bridge
Since I already showed one screenshot of Arakawa, I might as well start with it. I don't know much about this series honestly. I did like the description I read about it somewhere and since it's SHAFT animated, I'm sure it's all quirky and humorous. The main male character is Ichinomiya Kou, who tries to live without being indebted to anyone. Cue Nino-san who lives under the bridge and saved his sorry ass when he's about to drown. There goes his life.

Yes, I will!

So to repay his debt Kou asks what Nino wants in return. Nino asks for his love, but of course since she's from Venus (wat?), she's ok either way if he doesn't fall in love. It's really Kou who wants to repay any debt and gets all stressed out if he can't pay it back.

Aww... no knee pits...

Along the way he'll meet another weird character who's a kappa, but might also be a guy in suit... Yes, it's very strange, but it's just too freaking weird to ignore. Not much ecchi from the first episode, but I seem to be infatuated with Nino-san the Venusian... Let's hope for the best, eh?

Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol LilPri
Title's too long, I'm not continuing to watch this... Well, that's not the only reason. This is basically a grade school anime about young girls transforming into idols who possessed the qualities of Snow White, Cinderella and Kaguya-hime. So since they're idols, they have to sing and dance and collect some happiness from people yada-yada. Yes, I'm not too thrilled about this show, not sure why I even watched it in the first place. The one part I hate is from the above picture... They use computer animation to do their dances. The cg models look worse than a MikuMikuDance! If they can do the video below so well in MMD, why not this one?? The singing's awful too... NEXT!

K-ON!! (Season 2)
Too many people talked about this already, so I won't say much. I know there's a lot of people in opposing spectrum regarding this anyway. I'd have to say I'm somewhere in the middle; I like it, but it's not that big of a deal, really ^^; I do like the Yui guitar solo in the beginning, and the OP video is quite good. That song is kinda weird though.

Ecchiest picture I could find from episode 1 and it's from the OP video...

Knee pits!

Kaichou wa Maid-sama
Hmm... another typical shoujo fare. I think I've read and watched too many shoujo shows. I was reminded a lot of things as I watched this and even more so after finishing the first episode. Too many things that are similar to something else. But I am a sucker for these kinds of shows... So I'll probably continue watching it. Basically a very strict school president got caught in the act of working her part-time job as a maid in a maid cafe. Very modern premise, but underneath that modern layer, it's all the same kind of shoujo.

Impending raep! No, not really... The good guy stopped it in time. The maid uniforms look good though, the ecchiest thing in the show. The school uniform, however... Awful combination of colours!

Senkou no Night Raid
Hrrmm... How should I start this? I didn't like it as much as I thought? No, I never did give this one much thought. I was just watching anything that's new. The strange Chinese dub sounded bad in the beginning, but it did pique my curiosity a little bit. I was wondering why they have the need to do that. In the end, I was not interested much in this show. Like Ningyo said about this show, "X-Men no Night Raid", it's got some super powers and such, but with a time limit. I thought that was enough to hold my interest, but the historical and the political content got in the way of my enjoying the show.

Yukina's probably the only one that held my interest in the show. The super powers are so limited, I'd rather go see the X-Men animated series again.

At some point, it did remind me of Read or Die because of the combination of jazzy music and action, but definitely not as good as Read or Die. Maybe I'll just go watch Read or Die again.

Uh yeah, sorry... Another one I'm infatuated with. Short hair and the two moles(?) under her eye makes her look quite cute.

She's probably the only reason why I'll watch episode 2. I'll give it another chance... maybe.

Heroman
And now for the main event... The anime co-created by Stan Lee, and boy, is it obvious that he got his hands on this. Very basic premise: Alien invasion, boy gets toy robot, toy robot get hit by alien storm and turn into giant fighting robot. I won't say much about this since I'm sure a lot of people (like Snark) talked about it already. Instead I'll do some parallel comparisons with Spider-Man. I think I read too much Spider-Man, that I can't help but make these comparisons. Joey Jones (above) here is the main character. A boy who gets picked on and lives by himself with an elderly woman... So does Peter Parker. And hey, their initials are double letters too

Older black (African American, if you wanna be PC about it) man who supports Pete...Joey, at his workplace. Just like Robbie Robertson.

That's obviously Aunt May... posing as Joey's grandmother.

Joey's parents who are deceased... Just like Richard and Mary Parker.

Lina's legs/thighs.

Lina, who's a mix of Liz Allen and Mary Jane Watson, a cheerleader who's interested in Pe... Joey. I'm getting confused here...

Lina is quite cute. One of the reasons for me to keep watching.

Can't remember their names right now, so I'll call'em Flash Thompson and his football jock friends.

We interrupt this regularly schedule program to bring you this knee pit.

Hmm... hard to pinpoint for this one, but Psy here is like Harry Osborne. Except Harry's rich. So Psy becomes cool and given crutches to even it out.

The teacher... Can't say there's any similar character in Spider-Man, but damn she's hot!

Hot for a teacher?

A goofy Dr. Curt Connors...

And it ain't a Stan Lee joint without the main man showing up in a cameo. He seems to be in the cafe where Peter works all the time, morning, noon and night. I'm sure he's got other Marvel Comics movies he can do a cameo in. I guess there is a break in between Iron Man 2 shooting and Thor & Captain America.

I can't help but put in one more shot of Lina =P

And here's Spider-Man himself! Who looks like a cross between Iron Man and the Hulk... Heroman is the one who does all the action, with Peter confirming the action by smashing the gauntlet on his wrist (like Ben 10). It's not a bad show and the animation's great! But I can't help but draw these comparisons as I watch this. Maybe it'll stray away from Spidey in the second episode?

On another note, Yunamon brought this up: Heroman can also be written as HEroMan. I'll leave you to ponder about that... More to come later on... I still haven't seen Angel Beats and the regular edition of Working!!
